FROM THE BIG MEETING

Jon Hunt-

"As everybody knows, due to my sciatic nerve damage I always put the car in park at intersections or stopped at red lights. I was unable to get the car out of park quick enough."

"I had five drinks over dinner."

"Take this as a lesson folks, don't drink on an empty stomach."

"Why is podunk Portland leading this fight and challenge of the international when there are bigger and more powerful chapters that are sitting on the sidelines."

The comment about Jon's sciatic nerve damage is not how I recall hearing it.
Jon did state that he naturally puts his car in park every time he stops at a light or interesection. He then continued saying for those who have that condition should understand. After that he said something like thank god that he did that. I took that comment as to him being thinkful he had the car in park rather then falling asleep and rolling in to the intersection. I did not hear him make any statement that he had issues getting the car out of park in time.

1 drink per hour is how much an average person can safely process without becoming impaired.

Unless the man had a 5-hour dinner, 5 drinks is a lot, and if he had them "over dinner" - he did not have them "on an empty stomach".

If this were happening in our own organization, there would be unqualified calls for our President to resign, particularly for demonstrating such poor judgement at such a critical time in the negotiating process.
