Not that it really makes a big deal, but Honolulu is planning "heavy rail", a.k.a. surface subway, or something along the lines of Chicago's El (but on the surface).
These will be electric MU trains, with multiple cars, designed for high capacity - not glorified, articulated trolley cars (which is what light rail is).
