BUSES LEAKING COOLANT

I'm listening to the dispatch calls from yesterday and the number of buses out of service due to coolant leaks is unreal!

Why does it seem like TriMet is the only transit agency that all but shuts down when the temps hit 75?

It seems like each time it warms up, the D40LFs in particular are pulled over left and right overheating...yet transit agencies all across from California to Florida don't have this same problem with the same bus...

I guess that's the flip side with riding 14s and 17s...you don't have A/C, but at least you make it over the road, half-baked.

Newer Cummins equipped buses run extremely hot due to exhaust treatment systems. Several years ago, Trimet adopted some Nascar cooling technology on our new buses; I wonder if this technology is part of the problem.
