TriMet fare hike vote set for Wednesday

Jee whiz, I'm on the edge of my seat wondering if the Trimet board would vote no on this!   NOT!

With the fare increase, TriMet *hopes* to add more bus service.

Also, TriMet is hosing the Monthly pass holders. The increase should only be $2/month. When fares here go up 0.25, the pass price goes up $9, or $1.80 per 5 cents.

We all know TriMet isn't adding any bus service.

Given that the money's in the budget, and that schedules for the sign-up which would have the extra service are being created now, I'd be willing to bet you something.

You mean, TriMet is restoring services that were "temporarily cut"...that isn't an "add".

"Add" would be ADDING the promised local routes in Tualatin and Tigard for WES that were never added. "Add" would be bringing Frequent Service to the dozen or so routes that were promised but never delivered, including the 76 route. "Add" would be adding local service to Sherwood, Forest Grove and Oregon City that never had service. "Add" would be a route from Tualatin to Oregon City that certain groups really want to see.

I mean, TriMet is restoring services that were cut with no promise or definite timeline of return. Unlike trips which routinely disappear when student ridership disappears and return when the students come back.
