At a press conference this morning, it was announced that the Council has come up with the super-majority votes needed to pass the $20 Congestion Reduction Charge. With the deal, The Downtown Ride Free Area will be phased out by October 2012. So, Metro service is spared from deep cuts, and pay as you leave is going away. There are some other parts to the deal, but these are the ones that matter most to me.
