Bus driver has had enough-walks off job leaves passengers stranded

The press and public DO NOT understand the pressures of being in a job like this!

I liked this comment:

Maybe the bus driver deserves an apology.

He has no buffer: no office, no locking door, no desk, no building security, no administrative assistant, no control over traffic, no bathroom. Try that for 8 hours a day.

In 2009 the OC Transpo general manager earned $189,969.87 and $7,452.43 in benefits, but even he wouldn't deal with a customer who walked up to his desk and said, "Do you know how late you were today?"

If a customer walked in to the general manager's offices and started evaluting the manager's poor work performance and then incited everyone in the office to complain, I am darn sure the general manager would call security.

Or to put it another way, I'm sure the general manager would refuse to speak to the person until the customer went through proper channels. Assuming the customer could even get anywhere near the general manager

Sounds a lot like TriMet. When has Neil McFarlane or his mentor Fred Hansen ever deal with a problem himself? No, they leave the Operators out on their own to defend themselves and don't even defend the Operators.
