TRIMET completes twitter survey

No action from them is listed, just results:

BART police should let reporters do their jobs

Don't mess with the Longshoremen!

The Heat Wave is Over

I don't think I could have handled a 76/78 in a westside dinosaur today.

MAX incident

According to one of the Trimet dispatch monitors, someone tried to commit suicide by MAX yesterday. The person got in between the MAX cars.
He was foiled by an alert operator who realized what was happening and did not move the train.

Interesting study about public transit in Portland

It's dated 1998, but is still rather interesting:

No transit advocates in the whitest city in America

No event in Portland Oregon?

The internet allows an electronic community of those who have not been peasantrified. On the Web, learning and taste will live or, perhaps I should say, hide out. When there is no longer enough interest in books to support bookstores—they close now in droves—the residual demand integrated over the surface of the earth will provide enough of a market to keep the One True Bookstore, Amazon, going. Project Gutenberg will do the same for works not in copyright.
If there is any refuge, it is the internet. Let usmake the most of it.
