GOVERNMENT BROKE? ONLY FOR STUFF THE CITIZENS NEED
The ConnectOregon project was a good idea at first, but I've seen some of the projects and they are VERY ridiculous. An "intermodal transit center" in Elgin for four buses a day (and now a tourist train)? "Intermodal funds" going to repair railroad track on the Mount Hood Railroad for one tourist train a day? Even TriMet is feeding at the trough, as is virtually every railroad.
We all heard of the $100,000 bus shelters in Grants Pass...it's just silly to spend money for the heck of spending money.
