ONE LONELY MAN SITTING IN A ROOM OUT PERFORMS A BILLION DOLLAR AGENCY

As the years ticked by it has become rather obvious how paralyzed and oblivious Trimet executives are.

For a number of years now two lonely guys, bloggers, have been bringing the board meetings as well as other public meetings into the public domain so that citizens can view the goings on without having to experience the thievery of Trimet's "request for public records" process.

Either the executives don't care, are too incompetent to figure out how to do it, or intentionally obstruct the public's access to this information.

So the two lonely guys do what a billion dollar agency , can't do. Dozens and dozens of six figure executives, but no place for a citizen to get access to information.

Yesterday there was yet another incident where a lonely guy in a room provides the public service that the billion dollar agency just can't do.
Sitting at home with my scanner on (something I actually enjoy) there was an incident that brought the MAX service to a halt downtown.
I tweeted it immediately, the 100 or so followers of mine had real time information as to the MAX status.

It took TRIMET 1 hour before they put out an alert.

Shameful, there is no other word for it.

When I finally pick up an leave Portland, its a sad day for the transparency movement.
There is nobody else that will do what I have been doing.
Of course this is why Trimet has been harassing me for the past couple years, they want me out of here so they can go back to being the only game in town.
Their propaganda machine will function with no resistance.
