Larry Porter called into the managers office

Reliable sources have informed me that Larry was called into the office and given a warning about getting out of his bus and intervening in the dispute that has made him famous.

Trimet made if clear to Larry that the district can get sued due to his actions, he was instructed to never attempt to intervene again.

Trimet drivers are supposed to call dispatch and report incidents such as the one that made headlines.

That way he could be called in as a witness to murder, and TrI Met will be clear of any wrong doing,

Were the MAX operators who were using their cell phones to obtain the current weather and then broadcasting it over the train's PA system reprimanded for using a cell phone while the train was under power (as they were going across the Steel Bridge)?

If that kid was smart, he'd sue Trimet for Larry's actions. But that kid most likely has other priorities in life, such as his cell phone and mp3 player.

Larry did the RIGHT THING. If more people stood up to the punks in life maybe they would think twice about their actions. Good Job Larry.

You need to post this on the FB page and see if, in fact, this is true and if it is we need to have the facts in front of the public to let the public know what kind of chicken shit outfit TriMet is.

He did do the "right" and intuitive thing...kudos. On the flip side, the punk stabs Larry three times and he's now laying in the grass bleeding and away from communication and help. What then? It's a tough call and Larry relied on instinct because he's one of the good guys. But...you can't deny it creates issues with liabilities. Wish life was simpler. :)

Liability worries and "wishing life was simpler" does not do much in the way of protecting someone from being hit or beaten.

This Operator responded to his human reaction to help someone in need; he did the right thing.

This is part of a bigger story where the corporate masters steadily scrub the working serfs of their individuality, no matter how honorable or heroic that individuality may be.
