Opticom!

To take advantage of Opticom traffic signal priority treatments at 39th & Hawthorne, the westbound stop for Line 14-Hawthorne was recently moved from NS (adjacent to Jiffy Lube) to FS (adjacent to Fred Meyer). This move is expected to greatly help reduce delays at this intersection.

We posted notice about the pending move for several weeks, but only got one comment. However, yesterday, I got a complaint from a morning rider who transfers from Line 75 to Line 14. She said the transfer is more difficult now (crossing two streets instead of one) and some drivers are not helpful in faciliting the transfer.

Can you monitor this morning transfer situation? If it appears to be a problem, can we ask operators to be more sensitive to the transferring riders while everyone adjusts to the stop move?
=============================
I have monitor the location for a few days now, and I did not see any unusual problems with regards to transfers. And also giving the frequency of service on line 75 any passenger that miss line 75 can always wait for the next one which is due in a few minutes. That intersection is very busy with traffic that we cannot have a bus hold for a passenger for two traffic lights to catch the bus, thereby backing up traffic.
