Trimet activist HB

Mr. Hunt,
I want to congratulate you on single handedly destroying what little faith “we” have in your leadership. You’ve had done something that management “expected” you to do, “sell “us” out. In your latest “lay-down” tactic, you’ve compromised “our” position, now, and for “our” future. In your time since the contract expired, here is what “you’ve” accomplished:
· A lawsuit for unfair labor practice, success, ultimately what will this mean? Who knows?
· Informationals, failed, many times over.
· Challenge Trimet, in board meetings, failure, many times over.
· NOTHING ELSE, of any consequence.
Trimet doesn’t need to do a thing. They already know that you will implode. While you are using the same old augments, they laugh at every attempt you make to disrupt their process. As a leader, you have totally failed all those that put any type of faith in your administration. All the tough talk that I had heard from you and the other paid employee was nice to hear, but ultimately when the going got tough, your administration laid down, sad.

In your administrations attempt to lay down, you compromised, without a fight, you allowed in “your” compromise for “us” to give up any type of future deals, and “we” will be paying more out-of-pocket expenses beyond the compromise that “you” want. Now you are regretting the fact that you and your administration did not properly inform those who took option B, on the illegal changing of insurance plans, now you and your administration is playing catch up, sad. One of your issues (that everyone who are involved knows) is transparency; you only tell those in “your” secret society, so that they don’t get screwed, while everyone else “is” taken to the water-shed. You only took about 4% out of the 2500 union members and passed this ridiculous “lay-down”, this should have been decided by a majority. In your haste, a lot of members did not get the form, nor did you tell them (who were part of the 4%) that this “lay-down”, was only good for a couple of months, sad. You’ve just bartered “our” futures away for just a couple of months. What possessed you to come up with this scheme? Do you not know that “once you go down this path, you cannot regain the former position?” What do you think “our” position, in the new negotiations after November is going to be like? I’m sure you are going to tell everyone (in your secret society), that I don’t know what I’m talking about, sad.
I know that “we” have offered “you” and the other paid employee, advice; you’ve chosen not to take it, compare what “we” said and what did you do? Nothing. No suggestions, no ideas and especially no guidance of any kind. Then you did something in “your” own interest, to make yourself look like you’re in control, with the board. Remember, talking to the board about, “why “we” need our health care”? In you disconnected mind, you said, “schedules”. Did you not know that “we” are treated like truck drivers, on a 13 hour shift? Sad. For almost nine months now, “we” have been “telling” you and the other paid employee that the only reason “we” need the 100% is this, “the dirty-bus/train”, since you ignore “us” let me give you a visual:

This is “our” new friend Mr. mold and Mr. Dust –like substance. Not new to “us”, but your administration and management have turned a blind eye. In this instance, let me tell you a story. On this particular bus, it had an exhaust leak in the front where I am; also it blew out a burning dust-like substance. This caused eye irritation, burning nose and throat, and itchy skin. I wrote this bus up (white card) 3 times before for this issue. Each time this bus was placed back into service (I’m not blaming maintenance, due to their mandate to get it back in line, quickly). Since I picked it up again, the problem only gotten worse (I don’t know what was done to it), the next time I had a supervisor inspect it, he said that this thing needs to be taken off the route, and taken back to the garage. I wrote it up, yet the next day I coughed up some blood, which I did an injury report. Then I got this bus again, it still had the same problems, I had a supervisor check it out, he agreed, only this time I spotted Mr. Mold (the supervisor took pictures), and he agreed with me, although he wanted me to do another trip, I had to inform my riders of the issues with this bus, I could not in good faith, be silent on something that could hurt the general public, but, it seems like you and the other paid employee and management can. Sad. Now if you want to talk about the bad schedules, then you can say that it puts operators at a greater health risk, from a simple headache to and including cancer, then your argument is useful. This “is” something the Brothers and Sisters and everyday riders need to know, what have you done to get the message out? Nothing. Yet, you are willing to compromise “our” health for some imagined “brownie-points.”
In all the trips around the world with ATU, did you learn anything? Did Hinesman (who “is” still on the payroll) not teach you anything about “what a union is”???? Did on any trip (on our dime) teach you that a union is run by the “people”??? Did on any trip (on our dime) teach you that this union “is” not a piggy-bank??? Did on any trip (on our dime) teach you that a union “is” as strong as every member that makes up the union??? Did on any trip (on our dime) teach you that, a union does not compromise without a fight??? Did on any trip (on our dime) teach you that you are to “work” for the money (way too much) given you??? Apparently, you know nothing, but spend, spend, spend, and take “all” trips available. Sad. “We” deserve better.
In case you didn’t understand what is going on, and management “is” laughing at any attempt you make, here is an article, that proves “our” point, about your efforts: note this part – “Randy Stedman, TriMet's executive director of labor relations, called the union vote on premiums last week nothing more than "a token gesture to avoid embarrassment" during arbitration.” (at least the article explains, “our” position, better than you did. Sad.)
