supervisory reports

Because the parking garage on 6th between Main and Salmon was open, people were allowed to go past the barriers to get to it. However, some people just said they were going to the garage so they could get by the barriers. Then the cars would get turned around the other direction which also created a problem. The manager of the garage told the guy out front to wave his baton to get people to turn into the garage. When the guy did that, people thought he was flagging them by the closed street sign. The Transit Officer on scene told the guy to quit waving the baton because it sent the wrong message. To solve the other problem, the manager of the garage sent someone out front to collect monies from the people for parking before letting them by the Street Closed signs. This blocked the street for busses and trains. There were also parking garages on Salmon, Taylor, and Broadway that were being blocked by the road closures. I had a lot of people trying to get to work who said they heard the roads would not be closed until later.
--------------------------------------------
Broadway/Glisan was closed earlier than usual for line 9. Approximately 1645.
Should run the WB 20’s up 5th to Jefferson to 18th to Burn before the run.
Run WB 20’s on 6th to Station Way, Northrup, 19th to Burn after and parade has started.
Same for WB 17’s on Station Way, Northrup, 21st and regular.

Main problem on 6th was cars making right turns from side streets and blocking the tracks and transit lane from Burnside to Hoyt. Police at these intersections did nothing to help control the intersection.

‘Stay off tracks signs’ would be helpful at Couch, Davis, Flanders, and Glisan along 6th Av.

(Maybe some sandwiches for our police and Stanton yard operators?)

--------------------------------------
First lift went smoothly, short duration, no problems. Second lift the bridge malfunctioned; extended bus bridge with additional delays. Third lift went smoothly. ODOT personell were helpful and cooperative. They stated that Thursday went smoother than Wednesday and that having a supervisor there to help made it run smoother. Operators were cooperative.

complaint---------->I was driving on E baseline St going toward Hillsboro, She didn't slow when approaching a car that was turning into US Bank, I was in the right line when the trimet lift swerved into my lane and cutting me off causing me to slam on my brakes and throwing my dog from the back seat to the front. She almost side swiped me. I didn't get the bus I.D, but maybe look up routes for the trimet lifts during 4:40pm driving on E baseline St, 6-7-12 She turned off to N 20th Ave.

The operator reported while on her break she was backed into a handicap spot and a motorist pulled up next to her. The vehicle was a medical transportation van and was parked about 8 inches for the bus. The motorist got upset with the operator and asked her to move the bus. The operator felt it was unsafe and may cause as accident because the van was so close to the bus. The operator didn’t want to clip the van while driving out of the parking spot. The manager of Taco bell came outside and was able to get the driver of the van to move so the bus could safely drive away.
-------------------------------------
Leah screamed and yelled and cryed hysterically all the way from her pickup to drop off at home. The driver found it was very distracting to have to have her in the van for an hour. By the time Janine notified dispatch, she was a mile from Leah's home.
-------------------------------
Before driver arrived, customer hit her head on the back deck at Heron House. She has a lump and a cut on her forehead. She declined 911. The customer contacted her parents and her mother will meet her at home. Driver will transport customer to her home.
(additional info)
A few minutes later, the driver put in a priority request to talk. The customer had lost consciousness and driver was close to Forest Grove Tuality Hospital, so she took her there to the ER. Hospital staff took her off the bus in an ambulance. Her father also arrived. Hospital staff said she may have a concussion.

Paged out and James Mezo cleared the driver to continue and to write up a report when she returned to the yard.
----------------------------------
Operator had estimated at 100 feet from the Location when and Object went through the driver side middle window of the Vehicle. No injuries were reported Dispatch called 911 to report the incident and Portland Police responded to the location looked talked to Operator and left. Region One Supervisor responded to page and arrived to inspect the vehicle. Supervisor Confirmed that the hole in the window was caused by a BB gun, Operator was released to head back to the yard. No description of person who shot at the bus was given Operator did not see who had done it.

Annie got on the lift with the demand that I put the radio on her station. I told her we go without the radio on because she didn’t like mine {station choice}. But she up out of her seat and tried to go out the ramp door which I had up and closed & locked then she went out the pass door {rt front} on the van. But in between all this she called me names like, “bitch”, “fuck you” and others and said, “I don’t want to ride with this driver.” That I was mean because I turned off the radio. The People at Mentor got her back into the van and we got her home OK after that.

COMMENTS: I went to Dorothy’s house to pick her up, rang the door bell. The daughter came to the door and said that her mother would be right out. Two minutes later Dorothy came out. I told her that she is going to have to take her walker down the stairs. Her daughter burst out the door and yelled “I can’t see why you can’t take the walker down the stairs.” I told her if she had a problem with it she needed to contact TriMet. She said I was just being lazy and did not want to do my job. I said thanks for the complement. She told me to shut up. Dorothy started and said she would make a note of it, and if I didn’t want to help her I should not be a LIFT driver. She said I should go work for fixed route and I can sit on my lazy ass and not have to lift a finger. Dorothy’s daughter almost threw the walker down the stairs.
