The only blog on the internet that takes a critical look at Trimet operations and does NOT just spit back Trimet press releases
I got that route also, drive from one end to another and then get 10min lay ooover....schedule recovery! this "is" "our" number 1 saftey issue, hands down.
But there's no problem scheduling a 10 minute layover for every single WES run at Beaverton TC, and 26 minutes for each WES run at Wilsonville. For every 90 minutes of service, the trains are in revenue service two 27 minute runs (54 minutes) and on layover 36 minutes. And THAT has to be protected at ALL cost, while bus is nickel and dimed...keep pushing the bus operators further and further, they don't need breaks nor do they have the stressful job that a WES Operator (and Conductor!) have...
I got off the 71 for this sign up and went to a 72 because the 71 is completely screwed up. The 72 at LEAST gives you a small chance to get a break where the 71 leaves not much chance at all around the first two weeks of the month.
