I honestly thought UP would have forced them to elevate the line thru there.

Maybe UP felt bad after having RAPED TriMet over the purchase of the WES line between Beaverton and Tigard, where TriMet and Washington County officials had to fly to Omaha (UP Headquarters) with a check for $24 million...

Union Pacific does not do much out of the kindness of its heart when it comes to real estate matters...I bet there's some behind-the-scenes stuff that involves ODOT and ConnectOregon as well. You scratch my back, I'll scratch your back...

UP dosent feel bad about anything, its beating heart is made of money, and it takes money to keep it alive, thats all they are concerned about. I never really liked working for them when they were looking for cuts while the CEO took home millions a year in salary. Benefits are good, but a lot of unorganzation & BS.

I think even Bill Gates said they were one of the top unorganized companies that still manage to turn a profit.

this also means the end of the historic Brooklyn Roundhouse where the steam locomotives were kept (luckily, they got a site by OMSI; an earlier one there will be used for MAX)
