The MBTA has the guts to publish the comments.
Trimet, being the most secret of Transit Districts, hides behind the public records law to keep all its information away from the public.

Maybe this is the reason that Trimet can't find and retain decent employees
I turned 58 and want to get the hell out of here. I'm lucky in that I am not chained into this job like most people . You can make tons of money in transit but good people just don't want the job. And of course the structural problems with transit delivery itself.

One of Trimet's 'hidden' riders comes out and speaks
Hispanics make up a HUGE percentage of TRIMET ridership. Yet this population is completely invisible on the political stage, as if they don't exist at all. Minority populations of Portland Oregon have virtually no political power in the state of Oregon. Portland is the least diverse city in the United States of America. Interestingly Trimet bus drivers are a fairly diverse group of people (unlike the society in general) and recently there have been more Hispanic drivers. In the past there were virtually none.

MAX: The First Ten Years
Interesting to read the light propaganda from the 90's. Ridership on Trimet has tumbled since MAX was introduced into the Portland area. The document claimed 35% ridership and 90% approval with the MAX concept. Of course the propaganda machine of Portland Oregon has been spinning for years now. Portland is not a bad small city, it's pleasant enough here for sure.
But does that REALLY have anything to do with light rail? I seriously doubt it.
People came to Portland because property prices were still reasonable, which is no longer the case of course.
