JOHN CHARLES PAINTS THE PICTURE

I know John Charles is rabid anti union blah blah blah.
But I think that he, very pointedly, illustrates the EXACT nature of the problem and he hits the nail on the head insofar as what I have been babbling about since this mess started.

Trimet management wants everybody to give, EXCEPT THE THINGS THEY WANT!
They haven't stop construction, which will create further funding problems down the line.
The haven't stopped issuing debt in the form of bonds.
The executives haven't given a damn thing other than they have had no raise.
They like to compare their health coverage with our coverage, IT DOESN'T WORK! WHY?
BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE JOBS THAT KILL THEM!
It's apples to oranges.
Trimet is shoving the cuts down the riders throats and the employees throats.

If Portland is going to be different than anywhere, WE WANT JUSTICE!
EVERYBODY HAS TO GIVE, and the management at this company does not want to give a goddamn thing.
They just want everybody else to give. So far they have gotten away with it because they hold all the power.
But as Clackamas county has shown, there is a rebellion in the air.
YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED TRIMET EXECUTIVES!
Better take your fat pensions and get the hell out of dodge before the crowds come to Center St.

LYING MANIPULATORS IN CONTROL OF TRIMET

To Ostar, the Portland-Milwaukie light-rail line is the top project in question. Last year, state officials confirm, TriMet asked the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) to fill the line's funding gap by pouring in a share of federal grant money over the next 10 years. ODOT, recently given $100 million in "flexible" federal funds for non-highway projects, agreed. But the deal, strongly opposed by local transit advocates, came with a catch: TriMet agreed to give up any future requests for that grant money.
When TriMet released its budget in February, the agency showed a $4 million reduction in the federal funds it normally counts on.
"Here we are a year later and they're saying that the federal grants aren't coming through," says Ostar. "But they agreed on this! It shows how little they care about the bus system and how much they are willing to risk on the light rail."

BALLARD VS TRIMET

BACKGROUND
This case involves the complex employment history of plaintiff Laverne Ballard, an
African-American woman who worked as a bus driver for TriMet until her termination in
November 2008. Ballard allegedly suffered a series of workplace injuries, for which she filed
worker’s compensation claims. Although denied initially, her claims were ultimately approved
on appeal. While she was injured, Ballard attempted to return to work in various ways, including through light duty assignments, driving shorter shifts, and applying for non-driving positions within TriMet.

HIDING BEHIND AND MANIPULATING PUBLIC RECORDS LAWS

I'm learning everything there is to know about Oregon Public records law since it appears public bodies (such as Trimet)use the Oregon Public Records Law to hide and complicate the procedure for find out what's really going on behind the scenes of such organizations.
