Dan Schenk calls it quits on Trimet

He handed in his retirement papers today-in DECEMBER its over for him-another
good guy  has had enough:

SEEN ON FACEBOOK-WORKERS ARE MOBILIZING

It was once suggested that we pick a time (a week or two) in which we all agree not to do RDO. It is too difficult just to ask people to do that , cuz the next person will take it. But if we have a planned "no RDO" week or month....that can be doable. Quite frankly, people who go against it, should be treated like "scabs." Ugly word, but even an uglier disloyality to go against the union's efforts for all their members

I'M GOING TO QUALIFY FOR FOOD STAMPS AND MAYBE EVEN SUBSIDIZED HOUSING WITH MY LOUSY TRIMET BENEFITS NOW

Now that the mess has been settled, I will be eligible for food stamps and low income housing thanks to Mcfarlane.

I'm not taking Kaiser, I like my doctor who is 3 blocks from me and I am not giving him up for some institutional low service health care provider.

I get $700 a month after Mcfarlane decided all retirees have to pay now.
It's very likely due to my wifes condition that I will have to come up with $4500 every year for medical expenses. That will leave me with $3,900 to live on.

I can qualify for food stamps and low income housing now.

Thanks Neil for being such a wonderful man and caring so much for your employees.

God I wish I had a wreck while I was working there that would have cost trimet a couple million dollars.

BURGERVILLE BEATS TRIMESS ON HEALTH INSURANCE

What a world we live in. In Amerika 1/2 the people that ride our buses-do not work at all-GET FULLY COVERED COMPLETE COMPREHENSIVE MEDICAL FOR ZERO!

But the workers of Amerika, we get ripped off and HAVE TO PAY TO GET RIPPED OFF.
BURGERVILLE GIVES BETTER INSURANCE THAN THAN TRIMESS.
Its move to pay more health-care costs began with a 2005 employee survey, in which health costs unexpectedly registered as the top concern. At the time, Burgerville offered limited coverage to hourly employees, who had to pay premiums of roughly $42 a month for an individual and $105 a month for a family, plus annual deductibles of up to $1,000.
Only about 3% of Burgerville's hourly workers were enrolled, said Chief Executive Jeff Harvey. Low enrollment in health plans is common among restaurants, where operators typically don't spend enough on insurance to keep employee premiums affordable, said Victor Fernandez, a senior analyst for People Report.
In absorbing more of the costs, Burgerville's annual health-care bill nearly doubled, to $4.1 million from $2.1 million. But company leaders figured the move would boost recruiting and retention.
Under Burgerville's plan, individual hourly workers can enroll in a health-maintenance organization for $15 a month, with no deductible. A worker and spouse pay $30 monthly; family plans cost $90. Salaried employees, whose plans didn't change significantly, pay $84 a month for individual and $240 monthly for family coverage, and have an annual deductible of $500.

Fast Freddie Hansen

Now that the lying piece of dog crap Mcfarlane has prevailed and some done some major damage to former employees of this company-the people that actually built Trimet . (no its Not Fred Hansen, McFührer, Walsh, or Cowen). Mcfarlane can be proud to have joined the Scott Walker crowd

But in another example of the contemptuous nature of Mcfarlanes lies, FAST FREDDIE HANSEN, WHO AMASSED OVER $2MILLION DOLLARS OF PERSONAL WEALTH STOLEN FROM THE TAX PAYER-CONTINUES TO ENJOY A MASSIVE PENSION OF $15,700 A MONTH. NO CUTS FOR FAST FREDDIE. I'm sure McFührer will get just as massive a pension. McFührer has been here 20 years and has always made significant 6 figure incomes. Today he is hauling down $240k for his ongoing destruction of his unionized employees.

The man "stole" 10 million dollars from the operating budget and put it into his personal 'contingency' budget. His own personal slush fund. He argues 'it can't be for actual services for the public' it has to be a one time thing.

Is there anything more important than providing service to transit riders.

According to McFührer they are not an emergency.

Now he's won his ruling, despite the arbitrator stating clearly, that many of the provisions in his final contract ARE ILLEGAL AND CERTAINLY UNETHICAL.

THE PUBLIC WILL GET NO SERVICES BACK, THEY WILL LOSE MORE AND HE WILL TRY TO BLAME THE UNION AGAIN.

The slug RANDY STEADMAN "looks forward" to working with ATU President BRUCE HANSEN.

MY RECOMMENDATION TO BRUCE IS TO TELL STEADMAN TO FUCK OFF .
You get no more concessions-follow through on McFührer's  demand that we be allowed to strike. Then the next dispute will be handled properly, the members either stand up for themselves or they lose. In any event it will be the operators who decide

THIS management is determined to operate in an unethical manner, don't cooperate with them at all.

McFührer's only trump card was that he knew that the unionized employees exhibit no solidarity.
They are all in it for themselves, they want the money. (TRIMET CONTINUES PAYING OUTRAGEOUS OVERTIME)And they don't care about the union or their brothers or sisters.

And that people is why Trimet hires ignorant people to serve as their minions as bus drivers.
