It seems perfectly reasonable to me that if the TVM's are not working at one station and Trimet expects people to get off at the next station to buy a ticket, THE TRAIN SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO HOLD WHILE RIDERS PURCHASE THEIR TICKETS.

The way this fascist company is doing it now, making people get off and wait for the next train because of a TRIMET deficiency is down right evil as far as I am concerned.

Riders that have experienced another TRIMET FAIL, use the call box to call the operator and tell them the problem and ask them if they want you to buy a ticket at the next station then they need to wait for you to do that BEFORE LEAVING.

Will this company ever regain some ethical footing, or will they continue down the path of self destruction by disrespecting their riders like they do now?

I GUESS THERE IS NO GOING BACK FOR ME NOW

It appears that I will never be able to be a member of ATU 757 again after viewing the comments being made about me. It's too bad because I was planning on re-joining if the cartel that runs that outfit was finally thrown out. But it appears the videos that Lane has made have hurt peoples feelings and as usual I am being blamed. Sorry but I enjoyed every single thing that Lane has produced. He is one of the most creative people I have met. True he is very eccentric but some of the animosity directed at him is just plain unfair. I think what we have witnessed is the worst of what unionism can be, A crude bunch of bullies that make up lies about people they don't like.

A little disappointed with Russ

He was one of the few people that always made sense when I was a member of the union. His comments in this whole affair are not too bad but calling people 'losers' is solely subjective. As if your values are the only values that count. The idea that you are superior to others somehow is repulsive to me.

I just hate it when they use terms like that to describe the people that have contributed to this blog.
Jason Mchuff knows more about TRIMET than  every single employee that works there. Does that make him a loser because he is interested in Trimet on a historical level? No he's a loser because he is doing something that you don't like. Who's the loser?

I left the union brothers and sisters group because I left the union. I left the union because I was unhappy with their management style and getting pressure from union members about my blog and Lane.
I got some of their posts in the mail today and  it really made me laugh. Hey I might be a little obsessive about my blog  from years of being suppressed. But dangerous, as in I will act violently? That's hilarious. I get my kicks out of being a pain in the ass to the Trimet management. And no, I am actually not a disgruntled employee. I'm definitely not happy about the way management fabricated complaints against me, but hell I don't 'hate' any particular person. Everybody there at the personal level is actually quite nice. But INSTITUTIONALLY they got some real problems. 

Relax folks, I mighta been pals with Jim Stenger but I actually don't hate anybody that is working at Trimet, including Mcfarlane. I won't be sending a dozen pizza's to Neils house or starting fake porn sites about Mary Fetsch or even a blog titled  'The real views of Bruce Hansen' with Bruce dressed as a Nazi!  Sorry to disappoint you but none of that is gonna happen.

As a matter of fact, every single item on my blog is FACTUAL. There is nothing posted on my site that is based on a fabrication. I might exaggerate an actual event, but I never make up something just to embarrass someone.

Been getting lots of comments from current employees who "feel sorry for me" because I am making some posts that are anti operator. I have my doubts that this blog is 'going to kill me' as some commentators suggest.

WHAT TRIMET REALLY IS

There is this popular misconception that Trimet provides transit. The reality is the main purpose of Trimet is to facilitate land development. The true focus is on capital projects which Mcfarlane talked about when he gave his 'tale of 2 trimet's, one that is the top innovator in its field (capital projects) the other is the example of inefficiency and waste (transit services). Neil Mcfarlane himself demeaned the whole transit delivery part of Trimet. He should have been fired after making that statement but of course he has full support of that bum in Salem Kitzhaber and his board of sock puppets. Just read this glowing description of their land use project. Never seen anything like that about transit services have you?

Thanks to a grant from the Transit Security Administration (TSA),(as usual funding stupidity instead of what people need) TriMet has added a fourth K-9 unit to its bus and rail line security force. Snoopy joins other expert sniffers—Ice, Rexo and Mike—to protect transit riders from the threat of explosives. Officer Chad Stoner and Snoopy, a two-year-old Labrador retriever, went through 10 weeks of training and received their certification last week from the Department of Homeland Security. So what qualities does Snoopy have that makes him good at this line of work?  “Mostly his demeanor," Officer Stoner said. “He’s driven, which you want in any kind of detection work. And he doesn't get upset or frightened around buses.”

GOOD OLD NEIL

Ahh to watch Neil Mcfarlane is really something. He is so under control that Lane Jensen can't even get him to blow his cool. The master of lies and distortions. He got away with that PHONY BUDGET CRISIS BULLSHIT, of course it necessitated complete cooperation of our phony bought and paid for media which colludes with Trimet on all aspects of reporting. And now we see Neil again, preaching more bullshit. I brought out in a recent post HOW ALL THE SAFETY CRAP WAS FAILING, because there are more accidents now than the year before they started the stupid 'rectification' nonsense. Here is Neil Mcfarlane just recently making another stupid statement:

WHY DID TRIMET STOP GIVING OUT SAFETY LIGHTS?

In the fifteen years I was employed by Trimet the single most popular thing they did for riders was giving away the blinking lights. They were WILDLY popular and WIDELY used. When a driver saw the blinking blue light they new that was a bus passenger.  But they did away with it. In the big picture the lights were of completely insignificant costs, but of course Trimet is ruled by executives who have long forgotten what the experience of riders are. And the top executive has never been exposed to the 'real' rider. He is a career technocrat, somebody that lives that parallel world of the 1%'s although he is not technically a  1 percent-er.  He is a tool of the 1%, So the blinker lights were eliminated. At retail level they cost $1 each, in bulk I would imagine you could buy them at 25 cents each. Chump change to a place like Trimet. But alas they got rid of one of the most popular programs ever from Trimet, here is the 'official' explanation:

Although blinkies are popular and fun, it’s not financially and environmentally sustainable to hand them out throughout the season. Instead, we’re focusing on educating people about using their phones, clothes and accessories to make themselves visible. (completely absurd)

LANE JENSEN-FEARLESS IN THE FACE OF AUTHORITY

I have been getting a  lot of heat about Lane. First of all I do not tell Lane what to do. He makes his own decisions about whatever story he decides to go after. I will admit to supporting him in his efforts. I have enjoyed every single one of his movies. Especially since  I was prohibited from doing what he is doing. And his ability to stand up to authority is admirable. Very few citizens would stand firm in the face of authority like he is doing. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK LANE!

WHY DO OPERATORS CLOSE THE DOORS AT LAYOVERS?

And force the pubic to stand outside sometimes in the most vile conditions. I remember once when I and Willie Moore (also retired) where at Washington square it was cold and pouring down rain. Both me and Willie were in my bus at the time and sat there in disbelief as the operator forced mothers with children and elderly people to endure the horrible weather while they sat inside the heated bus taking their break. Both Willie and I were truly horrified at the sight of this completely insensitive operator.

I know this is a sensitive subject the but the rules are the rules. Trimet has rules but they don't bother enforcing them. The reason: THERE IS NOBODY IN CHARGE OF ANYTHING AT TRIMET. It's a free for all there. Take it from somebody that spent 15 years of his life there observing, listening, and taking extensive notes.

Here are the rules:

1.    Make layovers only in authorized locations.
2.    If your layover is at a bus stop, your doors must remain open to allow customer to board the bus. The only exceptions to the open door policy are as follows:
  • North Terminal: Keep bus doors closed and do not allow customers to board at any time when laying over at North Terminal.
  • Any security or safety concern at a layover, close your doors and notify dispatch: Press RTT – Please Call me and SEND.

HAVE YOU EVER HAD YOUR EXPIRED PASS/TRANSFER SIEZED BY AN OPERATOR?

If that has happened to you immediately make a complaint and demand compensation. Many people keep expired passes and or transfers for tax purposes and the property is not under ownership by the district nor the operators.
In reality you can report the theft of your property to the police as that is exactly what it is. Your property which has been stolen by a rogue operator or fare inspector

Purpose:

This procedure outlines the proper response to fare violations by Code Enforcement supervisors. Chapter 29 of the TriMet Code lists regulations governing proof of fare payment.

Trimet fare inspectors demand that Lane Jensen stop recording a fare mission. (they have no authority to do that) 
Here we go again, FARE INSPECTORS, who's job is to inspect fares although many of them think they are police, have overstepped their bounds again by telling Lane that he cannot film their activity.

4. The four MAX lines averaged a total of 121,700 weekday, 93,500 Saturday, and 68,100 Sunday
boardings in September. Weekday ridership was down on each of the four MAX lines,
averaging 62,700 on the Blue line, 22,500 on the Red line, 15,200 on the Yellow line, and 21,300
on the Green line. Total MAX ridership fell 6.6% during the peaks and 9.1% in off-peak
periods, resulting in an 8.4% drop in weekday ridership. Total weekend ridership was also down
(-4.8% Saturday, -8.3% Sunday), leading to a 7.9% decline in weekly MAX rides in September.
MAX rides had been down slightly in recent months due to increased fare enforcement, and part
of September’s MAX ridership loss is probably still related to this factor. However, most of the
MAX ridership decline was in the former Rail Free Zone area.

Should TRIMET be dragged into civil rights court?

Trimet has been operating separate and unequal transit systems. One for the 'choice' riders with the accoutrements of its light rail /wes services. And another system for its primarily impoverished citizens who wouldn't be able to get around without  the bus service.

I think OPAL should look very closely into using courts against Trimet since using reason with TRIMET is a fruitless occupation.

And somebody got pissed off. Of course many riders don't realize that many Trimet routes have nothing on them end to end. I tried to never stop mid route because I thought it was disrespectful to riders. I did it occasionally but always asked riders if they would mind before doing it.
