UNION DYSFUNCTION
One of the worst things I hate about our union is that members have to present to vote on issues, like this contesting of Bruce Hansen's election by the sorest loser on earth, Ron Heintzman, who has not lost an election that he didn't contest.
These issues should be decided by all members via ballots sent via postal service, or if they ever get advanced enough on a secure web site where members can cast there ballots. Right now whichever candidate can produce the most cronies decide issues like the contesting of the Bruce Hansen election.
The other thing I hate about our union is that all the executive board meetings are SECRET. We get no information about any of them.
It's getting harder and harder to support our union.
Everybody that went out of their way to vote for Bruce or Ron were disappointed however, the motion was tabled and nobody voted for anything.

This Saturday (October 20th)at 10:30 am
OPAL and ATU 757 are joining together to canvass the Portland area in
support of transit riders. We will be meeting at the OPAL office at
10:30 am, located at 2407 SE 49th Avenue, Portland for a
brief orientation and refreshments. Canvassing will begin at noon. If
