| Damn TriMet bastards...I love being stranded. Once again, my bus just doesn't show up; had to get creative to get off the hill. |
Hawthorne Bridge Trumpeter Found Dead
You know, in case you needed some bad news for today.
This just makes me very sad. I've ran into him many times, whether on the bridge or on the 14 itself, with his giant basket of different thingamabobs and toys that he'd entertain anyone who passed by with, even on an entirely full bus. The fact that he committed suicide just makes it even harder on me, because he seemed to have such a bright, cheerful spirit. I'm grieved that someone who would go out of his way to bring cheer and amusement to a city would have to die in such a sad way.

Investors Chronicle - FirstGroup off the rails
Guess who that is?
A weak UK bus business and a switch to a less lucrative extension on its TransPennine rail franchise hammered half-year profits at FirstGroup (FGP). But it's the uncertainty surrounding the West Coast franchise and future rail tendering that has really put a spanner in the works and meant no increase in the half-year dividend. That puts management's promise to grow the payout by 7 per a year at risk and increases the chance of a big cut next year. We'll have to wait until May to find out.

ANOTHER DRIVER GETS SPIT ON
A female driver was spit on yesterday, right in her face. She went to Dr Harris. Another driver assault. Another coverup by Trimet and its corporate media cronies. Trimet hypocrites who constantly babble about safety don't seem to give a damn about the safety of its drivers. Boy am I glad I cleared out of their when I did. I saw it coming, the fall of a once great and well respected is in full force now.
