Although  the constant drum beat of 'it's all the union employees fault' 'its all the union employees fault' continues unabated, it appears that the public has grown weary of the same old nonsense being spewed endlessly at them. I've been watching the comments on the various sites and Trimet executives are just making themselves look like the petty buck passing fools that they are.

Even the hardest  core anti union ideologues are tiring of Trimet's dumb message. 
People know that Trimet is screwed up, and they know its not just the unions fault. 
The public has a sense that Trimet management, once again, is attempting to pull the wool over their eyes.

Management failures cannot be passed along so easily. In the real world all the executives at Trimet would have been sent packing long ago. 
Service that is crumbling, riders that are disgusted, buses and trains that don't show up.
But this is government, and we all know that trying to get rid of an established governmental bureaucracy is virtually impossible.

The bottom line is the public is aware that the transit agency in Portland is run by a den of fools.
Can't hide it forever Mcfarlane. Take your fat pension and the millions of dollars you have already made off the backs of the public and go away.
 And in answer to the question, Mr Mcfarlane has lost all sense of decency, his ethics are completely gone.

SP RED ELECTRIC ON TRIMET'S QUARTERLY REPORTS

WES commuter rail, meanwhile, saw a nearly 9 percent jump in ridership with 112,740 boardings and deboardings. Still, that averaged out to only 1,780 daily trips for the rush-hour service in Washington County. 
 
Yet after THREE years of operation, WES is still far below the 2,500 daily rides that were expected after just one year of operation, and was promised to be a 'very conservative' estimate. 
 
TriMet is shifting from monthly ridership reports to quarterly numbers to "get a broader view" of trends, Fetsch said 
 
Because TriMet is forced to acknowledge bus ridership is up, MAX is down, and TriMet wants to control the message as best as possible even when the facts fly in the face of what TriMet wants to promulgate (the "success" of rail transit, and that people choose not to ride buses). 
 
This is another disappointing report from TriMet - where TriMet believes it has to depend on massively expensive rail projects, but total ridership is down while transit agencies nationwide are reporting higher and higher ridership. TriMet is barely hanging on to the ridership it has, as many long-time riders have given up on the system. In fact, much of the success of bicycling in our region directly comes from people who no longer ride TriMet, while auto use is constant.

These A-Holes have moved to quarterly statistical reporting, an obvious attempt to dilute their lousy statistical reports

The rats the run Trimet actually put into the statistics this month the following: "The shortfall was mostly driven by unsustainable union health care benefits."

What is that doing on the statistical report? It shouldn't even be there!
This is a vicious propaganda campaign that is going on  in order to influence public opinion.
Hopefully the union has figured out some way to challenge this because my blog sure the hell does not have the reach to make any significant impact to public opinion. I know I make a difference, but it is a tiny difference.

It is interesting indeed that even after winning the initial arbitration the company continues to spew THE EXACT SAME PROPAGANDA!

What are they saying? The first arbitration victory resulted in ZERO savings?

The hiring continues unabated, the expansion continues unabated, and Trimet continues taking on debt like there is no tomorrow. Yet they spew the same propaganda over and over. If only the union would give in, everything would be fine. It's complete lie

TriMet Tells Court Its Bargaining Team Has No Authority to Bargain

In a stunning statement to Multnomah County Circuit Court, TriMet claimed its bargaining team had no authority to reach agreement on a tentative contract that it will submit to the TriMet Board for approval.

In recent days, the Union showed TriMet that the Attorney General’s Manual clearly established that TriMet’s negotiating team was governed by Oregon’s public meetings law. This is because the bargaining team’s job is to reach a tentative agreement it then submits to the TriMet Board for approval. This process means that the negotiations have to be open to the public.

Yesterday, the Union received a copy of TriMet’s filing to the Multnomah Circuit Court. In that filing, TriMet claims only the general manager can give a recommendation to TriMet’s Board.

“The intent of the law governing collective bargaining is to have the two parties sit down and reach an agreement that both promise to take back to their respective governing bodies for ratification,” says Bruce Hansen, the president of the transit workers union. “In this statement to the Court, TriMet’s upper management is straddling two horses going in opposite directions. They’re telling the Union that TriMet’s bargaining team has authority to reach a tentative agreement at the same time they’re telling the Court that it doesn’t. Bottom line, TriMet’s statement to the Court means the Union must bargain with the general manager and/or Board of Directors directly.”

TriMet believes there is a great benefit to having all employees on the same healthcare plan and contributing the
same amount toward coverage. The same plan means management and labor’s interests are aligned. TriMet also
believes this is fair considering that the average wage of TriMet’s non‐union employees, including wages of
executives, is only about $10,000 a year more than the average of union employees, and that union employees
disproportionately utilize healthcare benefits.


These fools that call themselves managers don't see the difference between a WHITE COLLAR job and a BLUE COLLAR job. One job is inside basically 9-5 with weekends off the other job is OUTSIDE, dealing with the public all hours of the day and night.

b. For those retired employees who left the service of the District
prior to February 1, 1992, the District shall pay the full cost of
providing these retirees and their dependents with medical, hospital,
prescription drug, vision optical benefits and dental (retiree and
spouse only), not including orthodonture available under the health
and welfare plan in place at that time.

c. All Eemployees who retired on or after February 1, 1992 through
November 30, 2012 and those active employees who have met the
qualifications for full retirement under Article X, Section 1, Par.
2(a) prior to the first day of the month following ratification by
both parties or following contract award pursuant to interest
arbitration [substitute date certain once known] shall receive the
same health and welfare benefits available to active employees, not
including orthodonture or dental coverage for dependents other than
the employee's spouse.


The assholes that run this stinking hell hole want to degrade the health coverage of every single employee who has retired from Febuary 1992-November 30 2012.

What does that mean? That means that every single retired employee will now end up paying 6% of the premium charge  every month plus any deductibles.

Mcfarlane (the lying thief) made such a big deal out of Clackamas Counties 'promise' to  pay for that useless rail to Milwaukie. Funny how easily he breaks promises to his own employees.

Retirees have no way to produce extra income to pay for these extra expenses. ALL RETIREES SHOULD BE EXEMPT from his bullshit. Let us die in peace for Christs Sakes!

OK so I am batting .000 against Trimet so far and I have lost another one, and they have the nerve to charge me, well they'll get paid since its a court order. Hope they like monthly payments in pennies delivered to their main office and of course I will want a reciept for each payment I make. And it will all be on film.
But I got another surprise for our beloved management involving the courts! I might keep losing but I keep on fighting!
