BILL ENDING TRIMET ARBITRATION ON THE FLOOR
What he fails to understand is that MECHANICS, SIGNAL TECHS, AND OTHER SPECIALIZED UNION employees have a HUGE amount of solidarity.
Even if the greedy "thank god we have a job" weak knead bus operators ignore a strike, the other employees, the ones that make sure the buses and light rail move, will walk.
Personally I think a shut down of Trimet is long overdue.

Trimet continues to use bully tactics to get its way and there is no point negotiating with bullies.
Mcfarlane says he will be heading down to Salem to reverse the binding arbitration rule.
Last time I looked the house and senate was evenly split between republicans and democrats. With a 'democrat' (term used loosely) in the governors chair. (kitzhaber won election because of union support, but he has chosen to turn his back on unions, not surprising since they all are Repulicrats in reality)
Good luck Mcfarlane trying to get that reversed, of course any legislators who vote in favor should be cut off from any further union support.

But I have to say I have enjoyed the ringside seat to the latest circus.
And I get some satisfaction watching Lane bust Trimet.
Lets face facts regarding Lane and Trimet.
He has been treated shabbily since he showed up on the scene so there is some poetic justice in this latest soap opera.
Mistreated by bus operators, ignored by customer service, harassed by supervisory personnel. He never deserved any of that as far as I am concerned.
I have always been a Lane Jensen supporter.
He has plenty of foes out there but he keeps on trucking.
And there is a streak of brilliance in there no doubt.
