Trimet pissing contest

A pissing contest is any argument that just goes back and forth between two individuals but never gets resolved.

This is an interesting phenomenon and we are doing a post on it so consumers can get a glimpse into trimet culture. The people that pay are the consumers of Trimet services

We've been tracking 57 train 69 for most of this sign up and this particular driver is all over the map emotionally. He can be on time, he can run as hott as hell, or he can be incredibly late (working to the rules) Right now he is 33 minutes late. Pretty bad service indeed. Now lets look at the next picture

Now this is bus 57 train 70 which is the follower bus to the one pictured above. The driver of this bus absolutely refuses to pass the 57/69 bus, even if it means he himself will be late. Why would he do that? The answer is simple, he doesn't want to do the work for the leader  bus. This is a very common phenomenon at Trimet and management is helpless to do anything about it. It's a pissing contest between two drivers
Here the two drivers are sitting at the layover, neither one will leave the layover even though they are both late

And here they are again, 57/69 very badly late with 57/70 staying right behind him

And they followed each other all the way to the end of the line once again!

Beaks are not scheduled into our runs. Breaks are recovery time. In order to make the system safe, we take a break at the end of our line. Late or not. Al M, as a retired driver it seems your time would be best spent on explaining the system than encouraging hatred against it.

Just calling it like I see it for better or worse.

why not the dispatch let first bus drop off only until the bus catch up with paddle and second bus pick up or inserted cover bus to cover the late trip or short turn the first bus ..where are the road supervise ?

This practice of a driver running hot and then the follower having to pick up the passengers while his follower lays back happens all the time anymore.

Dispatch is so under staffed that they don't notice a thing until some one points it out to them.

In the mean time many children who are waiting at the stop with their parents are forced to endure extreme weather conditions with no shelters to protect them. No place to sit down. Biohazards of pools of spit, fowl language and illegal smoke from hearltess individuals are everywhere.

Why does Neil not care about the children?

Oh hell I thought you meant that we were all going to go over to the Kirk Reeves brige and piss off the side.

i found the best solution to problem .you work as team if you catch up to the first bus let him drop off and second pick the pace and third would ride the wave until second almost full, then the third pick the pace to cover first&second
also is best to know the schedule of the line, the riders notice different between lazy, uncaring and hardworking and caring operators.. to get sweet smile from the rider who was waiting in cold worth more then paycheck
