Metro in Seattle....is.....hiring?

I am a bit confused, it doesn't say "Temp", so who knows.

Apply quickly tho, the timeframes are fairly short and quick!

  1. Uh, are they having budget issues or not?
    They were just talking layoffs!

  2. Baffles us just as much as it does you. Metro has been asked by the union (particularly in light of pending cuts) not to do any new hiring of either PT or FT Operators.

Yet it has put out the call for FT Operators (hired from the PT pool) and re-opened PT hiring in apparent open defiance of the union request (designed to give existing employees enough hours).

For Punkrawker who may see this as "negative":

    For one to truly
    Understand the
    Complexity of the
Kind of stuff that happens each

    Year at Metro,
    One must appreciate the
    Underlying

    Complexity of the
    Horrific an undeniable lack of
    Accountability in contrast to that
    Demanded in the private sector

  3. Jeff!! Nothing was negative, but facts, all before the "Punkrawker" part of course ;)

I'm wondering if thats the reasoning behind the speedy timeframes.....Something just seems fishy, or theres stuff we dont know....

  4. Remember that memo titled "Overtime - Or Lack Thereof" from Bachtel where he mentioned that the County had been asked not to do any new hiring?

It's disappeared from both union boards at Atlantic/Central as well as the ATU 587 web site where it was previously posted.

So yeah - there's stuff we don't know, and probably should.
