WHAT ABOUT DAVID M GABA-ARBITRATOR-SOMETHING DOESN'T SMELL RIGHT

Something doesn't quite add up in Mr Gabba's decision.
Paragraph after paragraph violently attacking Trimet's ethics and even the legality of some of the provisions in their final offer.

But he discounted all of that and said "retirement benefits are going to break the TRIMET" so he ruled for Trimet.

5-6 points for the union side, one point for the Trimet side, yet he sided with the "unethical" Trimet.

The question is why? Why do I get the sense the man was under obligation to rule in Trimet's favor?

  1. I agree, Gabba knew before flying to Portland how he had to rule and so did Trimet. This is crooked Government from the beginning.

I can't believe how FUCKED we are!

With out that pension and Blue Cross Insurance at little cost, the job is not that appealing; Knowbody knows which end is up or which way is South.

Some folks just may be looking at greener pastures elsewhere.

Their expensively fee managed 457b plan is not employer matched, so basically an investor would break even during non growth years of the global economies. Additionally, the boasted self Directed plan turned out to be false.

  2. The only this company has now is decent wage after 3 years- otherwise Macdonalds is probably a better job opportunity

  3. Gabba applied applicable law..he had no other options. Thus, he was purposeful in pointing out TriMet's flawed, untruthful, or illegal proposals contained in their last "best offer."

Lengthy litigation is the obvious result which is why Trimet is quoted "we are eager to work with ATU."

Hold steady President Hansen..it's going to be an even rockier ride.

  4. So is GABA some sort of super power. The law never allows a party to lie get caught before the ruling and still be rewarded.

  5. Not a super power;an indidvidual selected by both parties with requirement to decide one of two " best & final offers"

And..the law does not protect liars. That's pretty obvoius.

  6. He was not 'selected' by both parties.
He got the job by default because the parties could not agree on an arbitrator.

And the right to strike was given away by Mr Hunt
