TRIMET DEKE IS BACK

Masked Advantages

Mask up! Why? Because it encourages free speech, hides expressions which encourage complaints, muffles curses and hides facial features displaying total disgust. Emotions we are prohibited to express.

The "new" uniform and I don't get along. We were surveyed a while back regarding the threads we work in. I was vocal. NO polyester, please. My mostly-cotton coverings were quite adequate. A bit outdated? Maybe so. However, they are relatively comfortable. If I sweat in them, they absorb it. Somewhat fragrant going into the laundry basket, but they serve their purpose quite well. Stain resistant, too. Considering my penchant for missing this mouth at meals, this is a definite plus.

DON ILLER: What is TriMet bus operator training like?

If you don’t pass the CDL test, you will get dropped from training and it will be bye bye TriMet for you, which for me at least added to to the stress of the situation. The test itself isn’t impossible, it happens a couple of weeks into your training, by which time you’ve probably gone over the pretrip so many times you’re repeating it in your sleep, and you can almost do an alley dock backup without sweating a ton.

This will definitely help deal with the problem at TriMet

Now all “they” (the masters) gotta do is change the salary structure to start at $30 and top out at $40 and there will never be a driver “shortage” again because it’s a “real” profession now

Most people are aware that the labor “shortage” has been artificially created by under paying workers what they truly deserve

Transit workers deserve significant pay increases for the work they perform

Also get real barriers and the assault problem is no more

All the problems in the transit services are solvable.

The problem is, as it is with all the other problems plaguing the citizens, a morally bankrupt “leadership” class of sociopaths who refuse to do what needs to be done

THE TRIMET "BRIDGE OF THE PEOPLE"

CALLS BY ME AND RIPPY

This essay is republished from  I Stand. Will YOU?

Author’s Note: I miss Deke’s writing on Blogspot. It was so much easier than this platform. Now he’s gone and it’s up to me to (periodically) write the life of a Portland Bus Operator. But I’m not happy about it. It’s just something I need to do; for YOU, dear brothers and sisters.

SO THE TRIMET "LEADERSHIP TEAM" (haha) ADMITS THE BARRIERS DON'T WORK

But their solution is to fix 5% of the buses? Sorry but I am not impressed!

OZZIE GONZALES

Anyone who listens to my board videos will know that Ozzie is my favorite board member, despite me relentlessly mocking him on occasion. I didn't know anything about his history until now and its pretty interesting. My opinion is that he  actually has the highest IQ in the room during those board meetings which is why I keep expecting some sort of miracle to come from him like we had with Lyn Lerbach (click) when he was on the board. (he got booted off the board by the criminal crony Kitzhaber)

González, whose parents immigrated from Mexico, grew up in a very different environment. “I was raised in a working class family that moved to this country not speaking the language, looking for new opportunities,” he says. “I was the first one in the family to speak English

I made my first dollar and I bought my first bicycle with money I made recycling cans and bottles out of trash cans.
