TriMet doesn't need those hand-me-down 35' Phantoms. C-Tran has some really nice 30' buses, and even some sub-30 buses, that would be ideal for routes like the 18, 51 and 63, and various other routes that barely register the need for a 1600 or 1900.
Heck, some Freightliner Sprinters in transit bus configuration would be suitable for those routes. I'm not sure what use a 35' bus has in TriMet's world - I just don't see routes that need more than a 30', but less than a 40' - it creates a subtype of buses that is less flexible than a 40' bus.
