WHILE THEY CUT SERVICE AND RAISE FARES IT HASN'T STOPPED THE PARTY
Funny how participating in the Bus Rodeos have been cut, but RailVolution has not.
I thought bus and rail were equal. Not so much. Rail parties are preserved at all cost, including flying managers all over the country to be wined and dined in four-star hotels and restaurants. Bus drivers who actually demonstrate safe, reliable driver...awww, screw them. They don't need recognition, not even a lousy $50 gift card to Fred Meyer, but the Managers sure get their dinners at a fine steak house - fully paid for, of course, by TriMet and the good residents, citizens, taxpayers and riders of the District.
I think you're missing the mark. None of those topic proposals have anything to do with rail operation anymore than they do bus operation... It's all transit oriented development & community building. There hasnt been a rail rodeo since 2008, same as the last bus roadeo. This isn't bus vs rail, this is development vs transit operations, which is a much bigger problem.

The CHURCH OF LIGHT RAIL has no equivalent for bus service.

ReplyDeleteI don't see where it says anything about parties. I see workshops and learning events.
ReplyDeletePlus, they've done it here, too, in the past: http://railvolution.org/past-conferences/2010
