Where your TriMet money goes.

Note how very little of it actually goes to...oh, you know, OPERATING A TRANSIT SYSTEM.

  1. Notice debt service crept up to 35 million from 31? That is another 4 million bones that they will blame on the Union.

  2. So Light Rail + Capital Projects/Programs (all the same thing) = 53.58%

And if they keep claiming none of their money goes to Light Rail, why is 53.58% allocated for it?

  4. Because the chart includes ALL funding, even the money which is expected to come from outside sources like the Federal government. I agree it's confusing since everything goes through the same pot, even if it's earmarked for a specific use.

Also, I've read that the "Capital Projects" figure includes the bus purchase.

  5. It would be such a pleasure for me to "manage" this company into a sustainable balanced budget, but that's not how government works, just look how big "General & Administrative" slice is... that's indirect labor that contributes nothing to the bottom line.

  6. Don't forget that WES keeps the budget sky rocketing, each time it is in operations. All of which they cannot eccept that it was/is short sighted and needs to be shut down and redone, by extending the tracks to Salem just to tax and cover the per rider cost of $35. LOL they only collect $1 per rider due to EVERYONE IS A HONORED CITIZEN..............
