CLAUDINE BACK IN THE NEWS

Less than a year after TriMet was in the national spotlight because a bus driver’s attitude toward a mother and her crying child, the agency is investigating another incident of a mother and crying children allegedly forced off the Line 57 bus late at night on June 7.

Three passengers who were on the bus at the time say it is the same driver who was involved in the incident last year.

  1. They left her there just so the media could vilify drivers.

  3. Well. Mary Fetsch hung this operator out there w/o even suggesting that the agency is committed to getting all the facts of what happenned. Let's hope there is record that this operator called dispatch, informed them of the situation, and, that dispatch requested an incident report from the operator.
If not, let's reasonably assume this operator is contributing to bullying passengers. It is not acceptable.

  4. I looked for the call...so far cant fine it...
but trimet records everything so they know what happened.
of course if they had sound recording as well as video then we could all 'see' the truth.
But just like everything at Trimet, its half assed.

  5. Al..what would be revealing is to know what, if any, type of intervention, training, or focused expectation follow-up TriMet managers provided this operator since the date of the last incident.

There seem to be plenty of "managers or assitant managers"--what steps did they take to teach/suppport/reinforce expected performance for this employee? Or, did they only push paper and send out form letters?

Just like service cuts and buying new furniture all in one week--there is a major disconnect and highly unskilled managers within the current TriMet leadership.

    God help us all.

  6. I have very serious doubts that Claudine kicked anybody off for a crying baby.
Granted Claudine is not that bright, and I am not her biggest fan, but I don't believe that she kicked a mom and her kids off the bus, again.

    I just don't believe it.

  7. Article reads the issue was fare related and staying on schedule. Don't understand why any operator would kick someone off, especially that time of night with children involved.
I would understand if the operator had just properly called dispatch and turned a problem or dispute over to them.

  9. All over a fare. This is why I don't ever worry about fares. I do the 57 every day, and I would say there is about a 99% compliance. This job is hard enough, without trying to enforce fare issues. get on the bus sit down lets go.
