LOOK HOW OTHER TRANSIT DISTRICTS TREAT THEIR RETIREES
Yeah, never was looking for any big deal but a little appreciation does go a long way. People are human and not just an employee number. I know someone is around the corner to replace me at anytime but it seems that the management types forget that there is also somebody around the corner to replace each and every one of them too.....at anytime. I remember after the first year at TriMet for perfect attendance in maintenance I recieved a cover for my ID badge and a free dinner to an annual banquet they used to have in the old days. I thought yeah okay it's something but the trouble was I worked the nightshift and would have had to burn a vacation day since there was no offer for any time off to attend. Oddly enough, after 15 years I am forced to be on the nightshift again and my family really, really appreciates it. Many Thanks!
