OPAL Needs You! OPAL organizers go out on the buses each week to talk to bus riders and to engage them in discussions about how we can build a more just transit system. Join us as we go out bus organizing on the following three days:   Tuesday, November 13th at 3:30PM Thursday, November 15th at 11am Friday, November 16th at Noon  Meet at the OPAL office (2407 SE 49th) for a short orientation followed by bus organizing for 2 hours. The goal on these organizing days is to inform bus riders of the upcoming November Bus Riders Unite Meeting and to engage riders on how they feel about bus stops and service. Dear AL, What a year it's been! Come celebrate the successes of 2012 at the final Bus Riders Unite meeting of the year on November 20th. We'll share a harvest meal together, give updates on projects and start discussing a plan for 2013. Even if the calendar year is winding down, our work is not and we need your support to keep us strong, focused and ready as ever. We have three bus organizing days scheduled this month that are highlighted in the left side bar. Join us out on the buses and at the following events this month: East Portland Action Plan (EPAP) Transit Riders Subcommittee Meeting Wednesday, November 14th 6:30 - 8PM Pizza Baron, 2604 SE 122nd Ave. The Transit Riders subcommittee is part of the East Portland Action Plan. Even if you don't reside in East Portland, you are welcome to join us. This committee plans activities around the East Portland Bus Stop project. You can come at anytime between 5 and 8PM and are not required to stay for the entire time - even a half hour is a huge help!
