The unions got blamed for it of course. The media made them the villains and the public bought it hook line and sinker. Nobody questioned the ridiculous salaries/ perks/ golden parachutes handed to the executive class totaling millions. Nope, its all the 'greedy workers' fault. See in Amerika today, the real greed is the executive class, but for some reason they are allowed to continue socking away millions on the public tit but people in unions and doing the work? No Way will will the public allow you to approach even having a decent lifestyle of the executive class. Only the executive class can have that, its Amerika.
While BART initially said
the train was running under computer control with an "experienced"
operator in the driver's seat, the NTSB said Monday that a "trainee" who
works at BART was operating the train on autopilot. A trainer was also
on board, but officials would not say whether the operator was being
trained to help run service during a strike.(in other words yes he was being trained to run service during the strike)
