Harry 'the hack' Sapporta and Alan 'the despot' Morgan on operator training
Usual bullshit coming out of the mouths of these two hacks, 'safety is a value' nonsense
This is not a new concept. School bus drivers have a mandatory 8 hrs minimum of training in core, core refresher, first aid and/or defensive driving every year. I wish they would use the National Safety Councils Defensive Driving standards in their training instead of what they are doing now. Their training lacks dealing with people who are under the influence, mentally ill, confrontational and or dangerous. The demographic of Portland has changed in the last 10 years. The clientele and attitudes has changed. We deal with multiple languages and cultures who do not understand Tri Met rules on riding the bus. I believe it is up to Tri Met to educate these diverse community’s so their riding experience is a safe one. And I think its time the biking community go back to the little card and 5 minute training. There are far to many bikes who blow you off when you ask them to remind you when they are going to take their bike off. Also bikers need to be more careful when they are riding near the bus. They are sometimes very difficult to see if they do not have the proper lights in the front and back to be seen with.
WOW!?!
