THE TRIMET GENERAL MANAGER GETS TO NAME THE NEW BRIDGE? WTF?

Trimet is running this huge slick 1st class propaganda campaign around naming the new bridge.
But the final decision is by one man? The Trimet General Manager Neil Mcfarlane?
This entire public process all boils down to one man, I can't even believe that.
At the very least shouldn't the board make that final decision? 
I can't believe this shit.
