Rumors

 
Trimet new hires heading for the door soon after arriving

TM is having a hard time keeping new hires. They are not getting fired, but leaving. They see how they get treated and what could be coming down the pike with the proposed changes and they say "Oh Hell NO!" (reliable source)

  1. Maybe double & triple bus loads of bitching people not as easy as just "steering the wheel."

    Or being yelled at "BACK DOOR ASS HOLE" could have stressful side effects on a fella while they sleep.

    Or maybe the added stress on one's knee's is a little more then a walk in the park.

    Or watching your follower pass you, then pass up angry waiting people as to force you to pick them up too, all by being 18 minutes late.

    Or learning to restrain your mouth from verbally jacking up a customers emotions; thus, scaring them on transit forever.

    Or dumbfoundedly watching people run for your bus as if your selling the last drop of water on earth; then, almost always not having fare, dropping it, or realize your bus is the wrong bus after wasting about 90 seconds of every-bodies time.

    What's my point?

    Just wait till after the new contract is enabled...

  2. This kind of turnover is what you see in low paying jobs at big corps and at companies run with a lean managment philosophy. It's part of the screening process.

    TriMet is screening for proper attitude: Will workers accept poor working condition, low pay, etc.

    The new workers that stay have lowered expectations of the company and that's just fine with TriMet.

  3. All the old timers knew of these working conditions, tried to warn and change but to no avail. High unemployment, tri-met management thought, would be the answer to get rid of these unappreciative slaves. How stupid,short-sided and corrupt!! Power corrupts...absolute power ( which trimet thinks it has now) has corrupted this once well- intended organization.

That was funny but true....so true that it's sad....so sad that it won't change people until it's probably too late....so late that we'll be gone...so gone that we'll be glad and happy again....in the meantime? pain and suffering and then we die. THE POINT IS WE ALL WILL DIE SO WHY CAUSE SO MUCH PAIN AND SORROW TO OTHERS?

  5. DING DING DING!! Winner winner, chicken dinner for Anonymous Comment #2. TriMet realized that they can't win through ethical means with the union, but they CAN control who gets a job and thus joins the union, so you're going to see a lot of "company men" or people too scared to speak up for fear of losing their jobs in the newbie ranks, and that will destroy the union from within. What does some kid in their 20s care about the destruction of benefits for the 60+ year-old retirees?

Governor let me call him!...hello john?? Remember me? sunset Bob? Recall years ago you promised to ride my # 63 bus from your home in Sylvan to psu with me on a Friday with also some of your friends in the Arlington Heights neighborhood? Recall your housekeeper, who rode my bus and worked for you, helped set this up. I bought and brought coffee, donuts, fruit, newspapers every Friday on the bus for YOU..for over 3 months after you agreed to be there.You didn't show!! I forgave you because you got stuck in Salem on,I guess, bigger money problems then. Now my friend,I know you would like to make this right between us, for I know you are a man of your word and your integrity. Now, its not me that needs to be considered here, but in view of your Integrity and desire to do what's right, I am asking you for a favor. It's a slightly larger favor only because the problem is huge, so here it is : This Tri-Met board needs to be replaced!!!! You well know of it's problem with greed, money, mismanagement,and blaming, yours truely, the bus operators and workers,for their own problems. If you can't replace them all at once, but can start with 3 or 4 at a time, okay, I understand. This will test your love of Truth and Justice but I am confident in you.
