Tualatin Special Election September 16th Light Rail Measure 34-220
I would really like to know why the issue can't wait two months until the regular election. It's not cheap to print/distribute/collect/process ballots and it really doesn't seem like any lasting decisions will be made before then.
My only guess is that they want an election that attracts unhappy "anti" voters while citizens who don't have a problem with the issue decide not to spend the time and effort submitting a ballot or forget about it since it's otherwise not an election. Only a small fraction of citizens voted in the Tigard election.
But the measure actually uses the word "rail" and appears to be limited to rail projects.
yes yes yes yes yes
