Another MAX fatality

PORTLAND -- A pedestrian died Friday night after being hit by a MAX train in East Portland, Portland Fire and Rescue officials confirmed.

Portland police said the pedestrian was hit at 160th Avenue and East Burnside Street.

The victim was identified as an adult man. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Portland police are investigating the incident.

East Burnside was closed in both directions from Northeast 162nd to 157th avenues. The MAX was closed in both directions and eastbound delays were expected to be more significant, police said.
