HAPPY NEW YEAR-TRIMET OPERATOR ASSAULTED

  1. It never ceases to amaze me, but the person who did this is most likely mentally ill to some degree. Or, given the nature of New Year's celebrations, drunk and out of his mind. Either way, this is unacceptable behavior which should be punished to the full extent of the law.

Another reason I refuse to drive on this holiday. My thoughts and prayers are with the operator, whom I hope was not seriously injured.

  2. Beginning the year, where we left last year with the same question? when will either side make this a priority?

  3. Once they start making this assault come with the appropriate punishment (it is a felony to assault an operator and should come with jail time) then maybe this crap will stop. I feel for the operator. The public is very scary and unpredictable. It should not be your job our your safety!

  4. Just info it is only a felony if the wheels on the bus is rolling. It is NOT a felony if the bus is stopped in any way, stopped in traffic, stopped at a service stop, stopped at a layover, etc.

  5. What does dispach mean by saying "error on the side of caution" after the operator said she shoved the guy back? The comment is from dispatch is troubling as to imply not to defend yourself. Am I the only one who hears that or am I misunderstanding the intent from dispatch?

  6. I think you took that out of context To me it sounded like Dispatch did not want the driver to be a hero and and refuse medical even if the driver thought they had only a bump or a bruise
