You would think our 'leaders' would create a system that would make it easier for people to ride mass transit. It appears that making things quicker for transit riders doesn't actually compute in the planners brains.
This signal off of TV Highway where there is a left turn bringing buses into the Beaverton Transit Center is a good example. Two very heavily used lines take the left here to get into the Transit center. (57+76). Yet this light is so badly timed that it takes up to five minutes for buses to take this turn to get into the transit center. Of course this leads to thousands of missed transfers over the years. One more reason not to use Trimet.
For some unknown reason, bus priority signals don't exist on the west side |
Its up to the city to install the works on their lights. Trivets buses probably have the capability, but Beaverton hasn't (or hasn't been asked) to install TSP on certain lights.
ReplyDeleteTriMet, Damn autocorrect!
ReplyDeletePortland received a federal grant to install TSP. You should do more googling, less ass research.
ReplyDeleteWell the grants sure as hell doesn't help shit on the westside.
ReplyDeleteJust cause trimet gets money doesn't mean riders will see anything from it.
Max has turned into Trimet's top cheerleader recently.
