Trimet driver gets written up because traffic made him late

What the F*K?
It appears he got 'written up' (discipline) for being stuck in traffic and running late.
A rider called in and said they had to take a cab. What? Huh?

Even the dispatcher is confused. The driver then goes on to describe the on line form required to deal with Trimet scheduling errors as just ridiculously  cumbersome.

Damn, being a bus driver at Trimet just becomes more and more of a nightmare!

  2. We are told in training you will never be written up for being late, unless your caught doing it on purpose. (i.e stopping en route for a smoke break) or anything Metro considers an "Unnecessary Delay". You are allowed to stop anywhere near the end of the line to run into a store, as long as you do your best to keep it under 5m, and can safely park. You are also allowed to stop anywhere along the line to use the restroom, just let your passengers know what your doing, and stick to that plan. For schedule issues, You only get written up for leaving a timepoint early.
