Brothers and Sisters:

As many of you know, I am running for ATU 757 Executive Board Officer at Merlo.  I am doing so because I believe in us.  This includes you, your families and all retirees.  This is a very important election for all ATU members – not just Merlo.  This election is about our future.  Three years of my life were spent fighting for the rights of my co-workers and all workers’ rights – including yours.  To better understand who I am, I feel it is important to share with you a few highlights from my work experience in the public and private sectors, my qualifications and past accomplishments.

More than seven years successful experience leading and managing an intensive, customer service-oriented company where a team approach to operations were critical to survival.  Nine years in international business dedicated to managing sales, purchasing, process and logistics with an extreme focus on attention to detail.  Successfully working effectively with diverse cultures from Asia, Central America, South America, and Europe to achieve common goals and objectives.  Ten plus years as a mentor, instructor and coach, most of which spent with at the Tigard - Tualatin School District (TTSD).  My proven success in both the public and private sector combined with firsthand knowledge gained as a TriMet Operator, will enable me to be effective as the Executive Board Officer at Merlo.   I possess a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration from Oregon State University.   I have an established open-line of communication with the Amalgamated Transit Union 757 leadership.  I have a clear understanding of what it means to have a plan – and most importantly what it takes to execute a plan when teams are involved.  I am proven, driven and motivated to work for all of us.  Through positive leadership, personal responsibility and accountability, I am confident I can  make a significant contribution to the Executive Board, ATU 757 and most importantly, the membership – active and retired.

Over the next week, I will be reaching out to as many of you as possible.
If you see me at the garage or at a transit center, please say hello.  I look
forward to earning your trust, your confidence and your VOTE.   If you have any questions regarding my qualifications and experience, or would just like to hi – please do…..

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
