TriMet could easily make service better

Besides the disruption on the Orange Line tonight, there was also a car stuck on the Steel Bridge which delayed the last few Blue Line trains (as well as further causing issues for the Yellow Line).

A suggestion was made to take Line 20 to Line 57 as an alternative for getting to the west side, as both run very late.  However, it turns out that Line 20 may just miss Line 57 at night.  This means that riders either have to wait a long time at Beaverton TC or that trips are not possible.

TriMet: 20-Burnside/Stark Weekday To Beaverton Transit Center
TriMet: 57-TV Hwy/Forest Grove Weekday To Forest Grove

It is true that it's virtually impossible to please everybody, and during the day time making one transfer work can break others.  But at night and when there's a directional flow of riders, shifting a schedule by just a few minutes can make transit be an option.

  2. Something customers can do at that time is let the 20 driver know that they need to catch that 57 and the driver can advise dispatch. Dispatch in turn can contact 57 and ask for the bus to hold until the 20 arrives. That is an option for late night riders.

  3. Possibly, though this person didn't consider it an option
