Puppets and Pork meeting Wednesday, February 26, 2020
1-The first thing on the agenda is ORDINANCE 358 which I give a big thumbs up too! This will allow unfolded strollers with kids remaining in them. I never enforced this policy when i was a driver and nothing ever happened. 👍👍👍
2-Our first piece of pork on today's agenda is a 'contract modification' (SOP when it comes to capital projects, contractors make bids for contracts but they always come back for more money for one reason or the other) This is for an extra $3.9 million dollars for DESIGN SERVICES for the Powell garage. Trimet has a huge capital projects department but apparently they don't actually design anything over there. Always seems to be cash just laying around for these capital projects bonuses.
3-$890,000 for MANAGEMENT AND SPACE PLANNING SERVICES. As I stated in #2 TriMet staff don't appear to do much of anything, at least from my perspective.
