Trimet March board meeting

 

As most of us know watching a board meeting is basically a waste of your time because the whole thing is scripted and they’ve already decided what they’re gonna do. When I say "they" I mean the technocracy not the board.

The board only exists as a puppet board and never once has overruled the Trimet technocracy. And I’ve been watching these shit shows for 25+ years. There was an actual time when me and Jason McHuff brought these meetings to the public because TriMet technocrats prefers to operate in secret. After the Secretary of State audit in 2012 criticized  the secrecy of the Agency did the agency start making these meetings public. They continue to operate in a semi state of secrecy because they do not inform the public on their main social media platforms, where they have hundreds of thousands of followers, that these meetings are happening. 


So here is the list of what will happen at that board meeting I may watch it only because there’s a few people that enjoy listening to me losing my shit over this nonsense. It’s very similar to listening to a politician or a governmental agency. They all exist to “control” the public not to inform it. They have quite a bit of pork to hand out at this meeting

We live in an era where we are completely dominated by unelected technocrats to run every aspect of our lives now and we accept it  as good little  sheep would do. 

1-December 13, 2017 via Resolution No.17-12-88, the Board authorized the General Manager to execute a contract via a Request for Proposals (RFP) with REECE in the amount of $1,132,290, in order to purchase building access control maintenance, repair, installation, and consultation; intrusion detection consultation; and alarm system monitoring, maintenance, repair, and installation services. This Resolution authorizes a Modification of the REECE contract, increasing the current contract amount by $300,000 to the new amount of $1,432,290 . 2-, authorize an exemption from “low bid” contracting rules. This ALWAYS bad public policy but "they" (the technocrats who literally own your transit system) say its necessary for the "disadvantaged businesses". In other words "they" want more power. 3-Next up is the budget, you will notice that the majority of the budget is actually for capital projects  and $63.1 million for DEBT SERVICE. Which is where the world wide banking cartel takes its share of the public money via the issuing of debt which has to be paid back with interest. This should be illegal when it comes to public entities but instead its standard operating procedures. "Often the masses are plundered and do not know it" (Frederick Bastiat). When the puppets approve this it goes over to yet another board with another set of puppets for their approval, which is always done with no real questions. You can read the entire resolution here.

4-It's time to give the CITY OF PORTLAND money to fund its streetcar. This should be a strictly city funded operation but somehow TriMet got sucked into paying a substantial amount for it. Fred Hansen was against this but signed off anyway. This will cost regional taxpayers $10,233,000. You can read the full resolution here and there is an exhibit which you can read here.

5-And now we get to my favorite TriMet pork barrel the so called "BETTTER RED" which from my point of view is 100% plunder of tax revenues for something that is 100% unnecessary. This is an extra $5.6 million on top of the original $15.36 million and that's the way they roll. You can read the entire resolution here

6-In 2017 the Oregon legislature foisted a new set of taxes onto the taxpayers without  a vote. They gave it a nice little name as they do  HB 2017, the "Keep Oregon Moving Act". This will move wealth from the tax payer upward (the purpose of government is crime) as all taxes do. In any event the "act" requires TriMet to create an "advisory board", you know, to make it look like people actually have any say in any of this. Read the resolution here.

7-Transdev will take over from First Transit and operate the TriMet lift service. This should all be operated by TriMet directly but TriMet is one of the most neoliberal transit agencies in the country which means there needs to be "profit" that comes from this service. See "purpose of government is crime" link above. Transdev will receive t $33,830,962 to operate the service. Instead of providing government jobs with government benefits the lift drivers get screwed so Transdev can generate a profit. But again, this is how they roll. Read the entire resolution here.

8-Transdev will not be responsible for the maintenance of the lift vehicles, that will be contracted out for profit to  Penske  for the amount of o $22,121,334. What a racket. Read the resolution here.
