 This my response to the current operators committee formed by TriMet management:

 The point all have been in place at one time. All!  Guess who discarded every single of these “ new “ proposals?  Only one guess!  This committee is at the latest of reincarnations of similar committees over the last 18 years!  Most of the current Rank & File do not know of the secretaryState of Oregon audit of TriMet. Even though it was watered down report, essentially a whitewash to not embarrass the Governor running for re-election at the time it covered many of the same concerns this current committee is addressing.  The one key provision that was not or has ever pursued, ( ATU 757 as usual is sleep) that a follow up audit needs to preform. That will not happen considering the Sectary of State was Kate Brown. Yes , the same Kate Brown who became Governor and appointed most all of the TriMet Board of Directors over the last 11 years.  

I hope this current committee recommendations are heeded. Yet, one looks at past recent history the odds of this happening is slim. Lip service will be given by TriMet public relations to department for all those who have participated in this effort.  This is the standard procedure. Any real changes will be referred to further study. (Note it took 15 years to get partial bus barriers that are ineffective)

I know those serving on this current committee want to see changes yet I must point out you all used pawns in a game that TriMet management has done many times before. The word “dupes “is what those choose you to serve is what management really thinks of you collectively.  Nothing personal when it comes to your integrity but a lack of theirs.
