  2. As I was commenting earlier, even though driving a bus was physically more exhausting 40-years ago and the new buses are so much easier and more comfortable to drive, I'm glad I'm no longer out there in the trenches.

Asking for a fare is downright dangerous now. As we saw in Seattle last year, it could get you shot. Or even worse, shot and killed as we've seen too.

Here's a double-story where an incident last month in New York gets a police officer shot by a fare evader and reminds a daughter of her bus driver father getting stabbed and killed by a passenger he let ride the bus even though the guy had no fare. However, when he refused to give him a free transfer, he was stabbed and killed ...click here.

And, another driver just a few days ago in New York gets assaulted by a pregnant teen over what started as a fare dispute.

  3. And the worst part is they wanted (had) them to continue driving with deminished capacity, which is the number 2 saftey after fatigue.

  4. Yet, the scum can head over to 7-11, buy something and get smooth away yet, cannot afford $2.50 for a fare...hmmmmm.
