More comments come in defending Lane Jensen
I didn't want to take sides on the Lane Jensen issue until I heard about
his second arrest and TriMet's attempt to forbid him from his right to
First Amendment Speech regarding the agency (including taking photos of
buses).
People need to realize this is a government agency claiming
that the people cannot speak freely regarding it!
Now I'm not one to defend Lane or comment specifically on his actions;
one's freedom of speech comes with the responsibility to accept that
others may exercise their freedom of speech as a direct result.
However, some unanswered questions that delve into the why of Lane being
setup: 1) Why didn't Ms. Alsdadt simply cease & desist Lane (if I
understand correctly, a court order prohibiting someone from doing
something and telling them if they refuse they will be taken to court)?
2) Why didn't Ms. Alsdadt simply reply with something like 'I will not
answer this question.

PORTLAND -- The man suspected in a brutal attack on TriMet bus driver earlier this month has been released from jail.
Daemon Bowman allegedly punched Pamela Thompson in the head several times, then threw her cell phone when she tried to call for help.
He fled after the attack. Police found him about a mile away and arrested him.
Thompson said a dispute over Bowman's fare set him off. He was short 50 cents and she would not give him a bus ticket. He became enraged and started punching her.
During his court appearance Tuesday morning, the court agreed to release Bowman under the condition of "closed street supervision," which means he will be monitored until his February 5 trial.
The bus driver’s union was upset over the decision, questioning why someone so potentially dangerous was set free.

Trimet resorted to hammer tactics to get rid of him. He made two annoying text messages to Roberta Alsdadt in 5 1/2 months and found himself arrested. A month later he actually called her a 'lying fucking bitch' and found himself arrested again, this time with bail higher than the guy that actually physically assaulted a bus driver. Apparently if Lane says things like that poor Roberta must have shivered in fear, he is so intimidating. Ya right. Lane had in his possession release orders that did not specify he could not talk about the case hence the Trimet Gestapo threw him back in jail. The whole case against him is trumped up nonsense but evennow he is providing all of us with endless entertainment. And if by chance he gets out of this,

It has been said that I am a 'disgruntled' ex employee of Trimet. Nothing is further from the truth. To be a 'disgruntled' ex employee I would have to 'hate' somebody at Trimet. There is not one person at Trimet that I 'hate'. Sure I don't like the way they treated me at the end of my career but for most of the time they were pretty damn tolerant of me. It was the YELLOW LINE CRASH that did me in. I was faced with a choice, give up the source of the information or be subject to 'the same treatment as a person busted for drugs who won't give up their supplier'. It was soon after I that the bogus complaints were coming in. Trimet made good on their threat and I knew it was time to go. But 'hate' anybody there? Give me a break. Take MARY FETSCH for example. I've met her several times and can tell you that she is a lovely woman, very nice on a personal level. Even that doofus Neal Mcfarlane appears to be a decent man. You think I don't know that if Mcfarlane wasn't the General Manager some other shmuck would be there doing exactly the same thing he is doing? Trimet is not leading the world wide movement against union workers, they are just following it. Both Mary and Neal have chosen as their careers to be part of that movement and as such become targets of my scorn. Mcfarlane could have retired as the 'brains behind the magical Portland Light Rail program'. He chose to become the head of Trimet when he knew he would be taking positions against his union workforce. Do I 'hate' him? Of course not, the contention is absurd. There is not one person who is currently working at Trimet that I have any animosity for. Your damn right I am pissed about losing 20% of my pension and the fact that their contracts were nothing but lies. But in case you haven't noticed, this is not unique to Trimet, its a world wide movement.

A TRIMET APOLOGIST GIVES ME A COMPLIMENT
I spend hours, days, even weeks arguing with this guy about Trimet and Trimet policies. But today he paid me a compliment!

Purfield also will be ordered not to phone, email, text or otherwise have any contact with the families of the 12 who died or the 58 who were injured during the July 2012 screening of “The Dark Knight Rises.” “We just want to stop the behavior and get him help,” said Kirsten Snowden, the deputy district attorney who heads Multnomah County’s misdemeanor trial unit.
On two different occasions Lane texted two different non threatening questions to Tri Met Media Public Relations officer Roberta Alsteadt on her assigned Verizon phone on her designated number for work related matters multiple times; “When will the non-union employees stop getting benefits and pensions after 3 years, while drivers have to wait 10-20? Most likely, yes. In Oregon, one of the sides must request the witness exclusion rule. It doesn't just happen automatically. But if you have been told by the prosecution that you will be excluded, you can pretty much bet that the prosecutor will request the exclusion.
Especially if you are a hostile witness. What the prosecution will want to avoid is your watching any testimony, and then tailoring your testimony to undermine their case. They want you to testify without any knowledge of what any other witness said. If your story is contradicts other witness' stories, it won't be because you listened to what they said, and changed anything. It will just have happened based on your differing recollections.

A public agency that sends out press releases to argue with unfavorable news reports declaring 'the facts' and who has now deployed its own police to stamp out annoying questions!
What would you do?
Say you're a Trimet PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER and some guy you knew was obnoxious wanted to get some information from you but you decided that you're not going to answer that guy, even though your job description specifically states you are to answer questions from citizens. And since you ignored that person he decided to bombard you with the same question over and over. Say this is the question
What would you do?
A-answer his question
B-call him and tell him to fuck off
C-block his phone number
D-report it to the police.
So we can see that the text message we are speaking of implies great threats to the safety of the public information officer-NOT!
No if it was me I would have simply called him back and answered the question and be done with it.
But not Roberta Aldstadt and her Trimet bosses, no they decided to call the police and block his number. (and for some unknown reason she decided to unblock it later)
Why? Cause that's how they roll. |

The biggest injustice that TRIMET pulled in 2013

Then a character by the name of Lane Jensen appeared on the blog scene. He was everywhere, on buses, on trains, watching supervisory personnel at transit centers, at board meetings and constantly bothering the managers for explanations.
Trimet personnel were dying to find a way to get rid of this guy. So they concocted this phony 'telephonic harassment' charge against him. Of course they had the full cooperation of the District attorneys office.
Roberta Alsdtadt was chosen as the 'victim' obviously because she is a woman and that would play better in the courts than if they had chosen Harry Sapporta, Randy Stedemen, or Neil Mcfarlane although all of them got the exact same treatment from Lane.
And what is the crime that Lane Jensen is accused of? Sending two text messages multiple times to Roberta Alstdadt in the course of 5 months. Both were questions involving her job description and Trimet business
The pure horror of that is hard to fathom. Two instances of multiple text messages in five months! Will Roberta ever recover from the pure terror of that act? Maybe she went in psychiatric treatment it must have been so emotionally upsetting for her.
Of course I am being facetious, the whole scam is nothing but a ruse to shut Lane up by using the police state and corrupted courts as the vehicle to stamp out dissent.
So what harm did Lane ever have to anyone at Trimet? Not one instance of harm that I can think of. Nobody got fired, nobody got disciplined (except maybe the driver than ran 2 stop signs, I think he got a day off with pay) and nothing changed as a result of Lane Jensen
Lane was arrested a second time because he misunderstood the terms of his release the first time. I'm sure the DA and TRIMET would have been happy if Lane had sat in jail awaiting his 'trial'. Alas that didn't happen as I ponied up the money to get him out of the American Gulag. It doesn't take a genius to see what they were up to. Once they had him in jail he would have been forced to take whatever plea bargain the District attorneys office offered.I'm glad I could foil their plans.
The sixth amendment guarantees the right to a speedy trial but we all know that the constitution was torn up long ago. They have moved Lanes trial from Jan 7 to Feb 10.
And now the oligarchs have won their battle to silence Lane. His blog is deleted and he no longer talks about Trimet. They should be proud of themselves for attempting to ruin a persons life. They have no shame, no ethics, and no morality.
That is indeed how they roll over there.
