BLOCHER (185K/YR) OFFERS AN EXPLANATION FOR NEW POSH LOCKED OFFICES

The main reason for all this in my opinion is so the executives could get away from all the operations.
Mcfarlane only believes in capital projects, this way he doesn't have to be exposed to operations low life

It is sad that the very people who should have some connection to the largest group of their employees will manage from an isolated environment where they can go for days without ever seeing one of "those people".

But it is a page out of the private enterprise, large organization playbook. I guess the idea is that the supervisors will somehow convey all the pertinent information to them, including a sense of how things are going.

The justification is that there are real financial advantages. But, nobody wants to think of the unintended consequences. (Can the Trimet management - labor relationship get any more poisonous?)

Blocher also said employee badges will work in there.
He is either lying or doesn't know how the security works. Employee badges will not work there.

They need special access enabling to work on those doors.

My guess is he doesn't know how they work.

He seems pretty incompetent to me, but probably a very loyal crony,
